Collecting Old and Classic Cameras

Collecting cameras started when I got my second camera - I kept the first one. If you do not want to fall into this same temptation, sell your camera as soon as you have got another one - otherwise you run the risk that you end up with cameras...more than more would like to have at home.

Here some examples of cameras which I have collected over the years: - to come soon...

Some of the key web sites for camera collectors

  • EBAY USA - the Camera collectors "nightmare" - many good deals, you can hardly resist to buy once you started it.....
  • EBAY GERMANY - similar web site for Germany - very often you can find items here which you cannot find in the US pages...
  • KEH CAMERAS - perhaps the leading second hand camera store in the USA
  • BH-PHOTO-VIDEO - another leading second had camera store in the USA
  • CANON PHOTO MUSEUM - a wonderful web site, presenting Canon's historical cameras
  • YAHOO CAMERA AUCTIONS - especially the section "Vintage" is often interesting
  • THE CAMERA TRADER - outside of downtown Denver, a good source, worth visiting
  • ENGLEWOOD CAMERA - outside of downtown Denver, an excellent source
  • SECONDHANDCAMERA MUENCHEN - excellent source for European specialties
  • LEICASHOP VIENNA - probably the best shop for exclusive and antique cameras in Austria, they also hold internationally attended auctions, where you can buy absolutely rare and special cameras. If you visit their store, you can visit a wonderful camera museum as well...worth visiting in Vienna/Austria
  • CHRISTIE'S AUCTIONS - in the sale category  "Collectibles - Cameras" one can find very well preserved cameras - and rare ones as well. Probably the most exclusive place to get a collectible camera
